Just when I thot I'd seen it all...

speed is much more important than weight. only adding weight if you can keep the same top speed for your break if you need more speed.

but cue ball control on the break is more important than extra speed. far more important. that is if you are making balls on the break

the general rules for balance point was one third of the way up from the butt. and hold the cue a few inches above the balance point towards the butt. individual tastes are different of course. but holding it too far back loses the pendulum stroke for most sized people.

I LOVE forward weighted cues, that's how I build mine, but it's needs to be balanced. Black Blade is not well balanced IMO, and the hit is very dead. Having all the weight as far forward as they do is good for a new player to help them stop dropping the butt end of the cue during a stroke, but it's difficult to create consistency especially during touchy shots.

Of course you can learn to play well with anything, but this was a no-go for me!
I suspected this from the get go. Needed to hear from other more informed players B4 confirming my suspicions.
Thanks!! 👊🏻

You build cues?

I only skimmed the first page and it was clear no one has actually tried the cue. I have. About 5 min worth a couple years ago.

It def feels different. The weight balance is immediately noticeable.

Other than that, it played about the same to me as a medium deflection cue. Def not on the low end like the Predator line.

I personally wouldn’t switch to it, but it doesn’t seem much better or worse than other med deflection cues.

From a marketing standpoint, they def have something different. That alone is probably as good a reason as any for a company to exist.

I think people are over thinking it....I sometimes apply weight to my open bridge. Especially, when im jacked up and shooting down on a shot that requires a shorter jab stroke. Just grip the butt of the cue more and angle your wrist downward to apply pressure to your bridge. I sometimes do this on some shots that i need accuracy and power.
