Justis Case

I was wondering if for those who have seen or own a Justis case, are there any features or markings on the case that signify that it is a Justis case. The reason why I am asking is because yesterday I went to the local billiard supplierto inquire about cases and after talking for a while the owner showed me some of his personal collection of custom cues and cases. He said that he had a Justis case that he was willing to sell me at a very very very low price. I saw that case and it was gorgeous. It was very old and worn but still in good condition. I would have bought in on the spot but was a bit hestitant because of the extremely low case. I have never seen a Justis case in person and I know they are very expensive cases. I just wanted to make sure that the guy was selling me the real deal instead of a knock off. I am just concerned because if later on if i were to decide to sell it I would want to sell some that is not what it really is . Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Usually justis cases are marked on the bottom of the case.My justis has a man shooting and says justis cases, florida.Hope this helps

They will either be marked on the side of the body underneath the handle or on the very bottom. The case might also be a Jay Flowers case. If so then it will have a marking of "JEF" on it in either of those two places. If you feel the price is within your budget then I would not hesitate to buy it.

well the case is amazing. I have never seen that kind of work on a case before. The case is closed by two heavy duty snaps on the side. It is by no means a poorly made case Im just not sure its a Justis. Ill have to look. Its a lot more than what Im looking to spend but for the price that he is selling for it would be stupid for me not to, that is if its the real thing. I was only interested in it because one it is a Justis and two I know I make a really decent profit on it. Its a 3x6 case and I really dont need something that big. By the way for those who responded, what is the resale value of a Justis case in a fairly decent condition

You can look to get anywhere from $250 to $400 for it on Ebay. Justis cases have a good resale value because of their relative rarity.

based on the look of the other cases it is very similar, it looks like the lid shuts with two heavy duty button snaps like you would find on a utility belt or a military canvas bag. It has some really interesting designs, i dont know what they are. Its pretty old i think mid 70's i think. The owner said that all i need was some leather conditioner and it would be as good as new. I really want to buy but I want to make sure that it is the real deal

Justis cases are, in my opinion, the best made of all tooled cases. Justis cases only date to the early 1990's.

The other hand tooled cases that look similar are Swift, Flowers, Widowmaker, Chad Clements, and Jay Flowers. Clements and Flowers are the most valuable to collectors.

For an average Justis case, used in excellent condition, 2 X 4 - the resale value is about $300 - $350. A 3X6 would be $400 - $500. Add for exotic skins, hair on cow, extra tooling. Deduct for broken zippers/straps.

Thanks. I was only guessing the date because it looked old. Its in pretty good condition but id say that whoever owned it got its use out of it. He did say that it was a Justis he didnt mention anything else but he did have a Flowers case but it was not for sale
