Yeah I was there and watched the match. I scanned the board for your name Bobby but you were not there. Bummer it would have been awesome to see you and Lee Van in the finals.
My friend Marcel mentioned to me that it was a battle between the Justis case and the JB Case since Lee Van's opponent from Taiwan was sporting a Wave Case designed by me.
One interesting tidbit that Marcel found out was that NONE of Lee Van's sponsors and backers actually helped him out with any money to travel to and compete in this event.
He got a free case and a free cue which is great but neither of which paid any of the expenses. For whatever reason the "stable masters" in the Philippines didn't put him in the event either. So he did all on his own and ran out like water in the finals.
And he got to keep all the prize money, not having to divide it with anyone. I think it's incredibly brave and awesome for players to go to these events on their own money and not be beholden to anyone.
Maybe Jack can raise his salary and give him a few cases like I have done with players in the past. That way Lee Van can easily sell them in the Philippines and have some extra cheddar to offset the costs. After all when you're using a pro player's name then perhaps it would be nice to pay them in a currency that they can use rather than simply one item. Or here is something Jack can do - Kelly Fisher had a deal where if she won the event on TV then Fury would double the prize money - obviously Jack can't match that but it would be really nice if he gave the player an extra case for winning an event. That would be a little more incentive.
I think I am going to start making T-shirts and give them away to every pro player. Then when a pro player wins I will say, that's a JB sponsored player who won the event.
Lastly, dude we already got the news that Lee Van won, weeks ago. You should have chimed in then.
