Justis Cases Player Pro Lee Vann Corteza Wins China Open

I've never won a tournament with my Justis case...but I won't win one by buying a JB either. WTF?????????

Congrats to Lee Vann Corteza on what must be a well fought win!

Jumpin Joe

Looks like nothing more then a jab at JB.
I take it your not playing Bartrum, huh. Lol.

hmmm.no not any jab at all thanks though.
I would rather this thread stay as stated to congratulate Lee Van Corteza for a big win and Diviney cues also is a sponsor not just Justis cases.

To answer your question you must not have seen all the threads and understand about the matches.
Barton challenged me to play Barton first and I accepted and the thread got deleted by a moderator.
Barton then challenged me to play Chris Bartrum and I accepted and made a thread and excepted as long as Barton kept his word to put up all the money.
So there you go 2 matches not 1 match.
I wanna play and can post whatever amount of money for these matches as long as they are equal bets.
My post money I will fly to las vegas the 1st of next week and drop off with Mark Griffin and Barton can do the same by wire transfer or one of his friends for the first match against himself or both matches at the same time.

What else is missing here.Oh a table to play on,the rules and a referee. No problem Im sure Mark Griffin can set all that up and I know everyones money is 100 % secure with him as his is about the most important person in American pool.

If you would like to discuss the matches and have any ideas to help please pm me and I will respond back as I wanna play and the 1st match can be in Vegas in July against Barton and to answer a question I know im an underdog against Bartum but I will accept the challenge for sure as Barton did also say he would stake Bartum in any game against me so best 2 out of 3 races to 500 straight pool shouldn't make me as big of underdog as other games.
Yes I did offer a round robin format because it was the offer to barton and figured it would be good to play Chris the same way however Barton did say any game so I just want to bet with Barton but I know your an action guy so maybe you can bet when I play Barton with someone but I doubt anyone will put their money on him except himself.
As for me and Bartum you might find a few people that would be willing to bet something on me and Chris playing the straight pool races but he is probably the favorite don't you think so.

Now come on lets just congratulate Lee Vann now and not get sidetracked.

Yeah I was there and watched the match. I scanned the board for your name Bobby but you were not there. Bummer it would have been awesome to see you and Lee Van in the finals.

My friend Marcel mentioned to me that it was a battle between the Justis case and the JB Case since Lee Van's opponent from Taiwan was sporting a Wave Case designed by me.

One interesting tidbit that Marcel found out was that NONE of Lee Van's sponsors and backers actually helped him out with any money to travel to and compete in this event.

He got a free case and a free cue which is great but neither of which paid any of the expenses. For whatever reason the "stable masters" in the Philippines didn't put him in the event either. So he did all on his own and ran out like water in the finals.

And he got to keep all the prize money, not having to divide it with anyone. I think it's incredibly brave and awesome for players to go to these events on their own money and not be beholden to anyone.

Maybe Jack can raise his salary and give him a few cases like I have done with players in the past. That way Lee Van can easily sell them in the Philippines and have some extra cheddar to offset the costs. After all when you're using a pro player's name then perhaps it would be nice to pay them in a currency that they can use rather than simply one item. Or here is something Jack can do - Kelly Fisher had a deal where if she won the event on TV then Fury would double the prize money - obviously Jack can't match that but it would be really nice if he gave the player an extra case for winning an event. That would be a little more incentive.

I think I am going to start making T-shirts and give them away to every pro player. Then when a pro player wins I will say, that's a JB sponsored player who won the event. :-)

Lastly, dude we already got the news that Lee Van won, weeks ago. You should have chimed in then.

Well do you have proof that he doesn't get money from Justis.Nope I didn't think so.

Another thread going to be ruined by Barton because of jealousy.
Why don't you just call jack Justis on the phone and tell him you love him and your sorry for being so obsessed by him.You would probably feel a lot better and more productive in life and designing cases.
Im sure now it burns your butt in your homeland to see a player from the Justis stable win your home countrys biggest event.
I just tonight saw the facebook message that Lee vann Corteza posted and he thanked his sponsors. And as with all the pros that are in the Justis stable they come to Justis for a case and a deal with jack and never does jack approach any pros to carry his case.

Efren didn't approach Jack Justis 20+ years ago to get a case and sponsorship Efren came to him and has trusted Justis cases all these years to protect his cues and Efren checks his Justis case in without any extra protection or any type of box for his case and he is arguably the best all around player in the last 20 years or maybe ever.

Anyways Congrats to Lee Vann and also to his sponsors that he listed and said thanks too.

I do sincerely apologize. You are absolutely correct I do not know if Lee Van or any player sponsored by Mr. Justis receives anything other than the ONE case per year that Mr. Justis has stated he gives to the players he sponsors.

I have talked to a few players over the years and none of them has indicated to me that they have ever received anything other than a case every year or so from Mr. Justis. If Mr. Justis is now providing monetary assistance to the players he provides cases to then I think that's great.

My homeland?

Oh you mean China. You mean it burns my butt to see a player in China win a tournament who has a Justis case. Yeah, I am totally enraged by that and depressed as well.

In fact I walk around in a state of frustration because the vast majority of the professional tournaments won are won by players who don't carry my cases. It keeps me up at night.

Anyway, congrats to Lee Van, AGAIN, and congrats to Jack and the Justis West crew in China who probably got a big boost out of the fact that a person sporting a Justis won an important event in China. I imagine that will certainly help the sales of Justis West cases here.

I do love Jack. So much so that I am currently copying his case so that I will have a $300 leather tube case in the lineup. I think Jack has made a wonderfully simple case that fits our needs perfectly in this regard. I think I am going to skip the sharpie marker paint lines though because I don't like the way mine faded out on the Justis I own.

I am going to change the interior a little though to be more like ours, I hope the customers are ok with that.

And again my deepest and sincerest apologies for assuming that Jack is not actually paying the players. I should have referred to his previous statements on the matter where he stated clearly that he does not pay any money instead of making a statement of fact for the present. When I have time I will look it up and provide the link for reference.

It's pretty simple for me to ask Lee Van but you already know the answer... Jack's sponsorship ends with his free case... I've talked to a bunch of the pros and that is where it starts and where it ends......

You can try and spin the thread however you wish but you are only digging up bones as usual... This was a dig and everyone here knows it.. If they don't all they have to do is take a good hard look at your posting history....

Based on the hooker comment and the pedophile crap I have no idea how you are still here...

But since you are, you need to take a long hard look at the years you have spent in the game and decide what your legacy should be.... As a highly skilled player I would think the last thing you would want left as "your mark" would be a bunch of adolescent posts with zero substance..

Get off the jihad and talk about straight pool and your journey... That's the stuff that's going to matter in the end.....

Chris

"You must spread some reputation around before giving it to The Renfro again."

Well said.

I want you to explain to me how his first post is a jab at John Barton. Please enlightn me. Because in this thread that was NOT about John, John derailed it by claiming it WAS about him...http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=322085

Are you saying that if someone posts a thread about a guy that wins a tournament that SPORTS a Justis case at any time, it automatically becomes a jab at JB?

Thats absolute bullsh*t.

If Bobby wants to promote Justis cases by posting that someone won a tournament that Jack has given a case to, that is his perogative. Its a free board. Getting back to this thread and my New Balance thread, if anyone thinks that another person should moderate his own feelings because it might disagree with barton, well I got news for you, that ain't happening.

I already have it from another casemaker's afraid to contradict JB because he might suffer the Justis treatment. So I want you to tell me is ONE person should have the right or ability to quiet down his critics because they are afraid that he might do one of the following:

Call his town, state, county and report him
Stalk him on every thread he starts, or any case of his that gets a compliment
Start dropping his cases in a video

These are things that John has shown he is wiling to do, to keep you quiet. I do not fear online terrorism, from anyone.

No place in his first post is ANY reference to JB, or the harm that a JB case can do to a cue as witnessed in his own video.

JV

Looks like nothing more then a jab at JB.

I call that even 3 of your cases is equal to 1 justice case

Jack has himself said on this forum he doesn't pay anyone to play with a justice case. He gives them a new case every year as long as they give the old one back

So are you saying if the player used Blue Rubber Bands to Carry his cue he would have lost?

This Enquiring mind would love to know? IMHO the guy won because of ability, not his Pool Q Kase.

As JJ said

I figured Barton would recognize the allusion. I have not followed the back and forth between these two beyond the last month, but I think for the most part Barton has been winning the war of words for the most part.

I guess Barton has been chiming into threads by Bobby too much for some, but I think it is ok for him to jump into a thread such as this. I think I was reading one where Wilson warned one or both.

I enjoy reading these flame war threads. Keep up the good pot stirring guys.
