to me the black holds up alot better so far. also the hit on my SS black is far better than a medium kamui. i hated the medium kamui.
 
I just had the black medium installed and based on the 5 minute test, I like it. It's a bit harder than the moori medium that I'm used to but I'll adjust after some more play. I may have to try the black soft next.
 
I just switched from the standard Kamui Medium to the Kamui Black Soft based upon recommendations from some cue maker friends. I was having a problem with miscues with the Kamui medium. (once every 3-4 racks at least.) I switched and have had next to no problems with it. Before I changed to the Kamui, I played with a Moori medium for 8+ years. I would always have an issue with more recent iterations of the Moori growning hard, glossing over and mushrooming. Switched and did not have any issues whatsoever with Kamui's doing the same. Then there was the miscue problem. The black seems to have solved that problem. Also, switched from a medium to a soft. The hit really isn't that much different than the standard medium. Highly recommend this tip....

I think the Black Kamui will find it's place high in the market.Kamui Blk Just has been growing in JP. I put a couple of every kamui on with MEL, ivorine 2,3,4 ferrules ,ivory,West House mic. From the original in 2005 Kamui ,Kamui II's H,M,MS,S--. H,,M,S,SS black kamui. they are on 10-12 3/8-10 shafts,(Gilbert Cues ,Martinez., some 4 shafts 5/16-14 piloted(phillippi.0 I'm obsessed with testing. I play all games ,snooker,banks,10,9,8 ball games-one pocket, straight pool. All Kamui's work with a stroke!!! The blk is advanced.mark
