How does a kamui clear hard compare to a talisman, moori, etc..., hard??? I have been told they are way harder. I have played with talisman hards for years and really like them. I am having a KCH put on but I have been told they should only be used for breaking etc..I have searched here and on google but can't find a clear answer.
Thanks for your time.

I use black Kamui hard on both my breaker and play cues.
Work perfectly fine.
I prefer them over the ones you mentioned.

If you "really like" Talisman, why are you changing?

No real reason other than just to try something different. I have hit with several kamui tips and liked the hit. Never met anyone that had a kamui hard though. If I don't like it it's a simple fix was just curious.

He offers up a good point... If you have a tip that works for you finding the same thing in another manufacturers tip line is pretty hard action...

From what I recall a brown Kamui Clear hard is similar and softer than the black clear hard... Well I am sure the brown is softer than the blacks am just a long way from hitting Talismans at this point....

I finally hit the G2 hard this week, have only had my hands on their medium, and it's actually softer than the Kamui Brown Hard or the Moori Quick... IF you liked the Talisman the order I would go would be brown kamui clear hard and if you wanted harder kamui black or a little softer moori quick....

This would be my suggestion if you intend to go layered... There are always other options

I have Kamui Black medium on 5 shafts anf Kamui Black Clear on 3 shafts.
The Kamui Black medium glazes quite a bit and is harder than the Kamui Black Clear.
I tried Kamui Black Clear medium on a '07 Owen cue I sold a couple of months ago.
Based upon the way the medium version of the Clear played, I decided to switch to
Kamui Black Clear in a soft version (2 shafts) and super-soft version (1 shaft).

The Kamui Black Clear plays just outstanding and I recommend stepping down 1 range
in hardness. I know that seems contrary to what you already like but you will really
appreciate why after doing so and will love the hit and feel.....or at least I believe you would.

You'll hear a lot of baloney about Kamui tips, and of course, which version. But none of that
matters a tinkers damn when you play with this tip. Just keep in mind that I've urged you to
go down one range in cue tip hardness from what you're currently using.....it just works great.

I use a Kamui Black Hard on my player. They are certainly acceptable for playing. I have had mine for quite a while without any problems at all. They can be used for breaking, but I love using it on my player.

Try out the range of Zan tips, from what I've been threw with Kamui is there quality control has gone down the drain and the tips glaze way to fast and result in to many miscues, to much maintenance.

Kamui Black Hard was too hard for my liking. It was on a shaft that I didn't want to use as a break shaft, so I had it taken off. I have a Kamui Clear Black Medium that I really like. I agree with Matt that it plays like a great hard tip.

One of my shafts has a Talisman WB Hard that I love. It has been my favorite commercial tip with Moori III Quick close behind. About a year ago, I had another TWBH installed that is very good, but not quite up to the previous standard (good enough to keep). I also have a shaft with a Talisman Pro Hard I really like that feels closer to the Moori III Q. Another option that I prefer to the Talisman Pro is the Instroke Hard tip. In two examples, I do not think I could distinguish the Instroke Hard from a Moori III Q.

I have 2 shafts with G2 Hard tips. I agree with Chris that initially they felt softer than Moori III Quick, but in a fairly short while, it hardens and plays similar to the Moori. I like the feel after initial installation and even more after it hardens a bit.

I miss my Moori III Quick and I wish I could get more TWBH tips like my first. But there are other great options out there, both that I have tried and that I have not. Hard tips last a long time for me. I have a sufficient number of tips in reserve that I may not need to experiment with other brands for quite some time.

Talisman hard is a pretty darn hard tip, so Kamui Clear Black Hard will be similar in hardness. Kamui Clear Brown Hard probably a little softer.

All 3 way too hard for me but if hard works for you you should be fine with any of 'em.

I used a Kamui Black Clear H on my player for 3 months, was not too impressed to be honest and switched to a Zan premium tip which I much prefer. Probably would make a very good break tip though.

All the tips mentioned have their own unique feel and hit. Some love one and hate the others and vice versa. So there is really no way to compare them as a rubber durometer does not tell how well the tip will spin, follow or draw the ball or how easy it is to miscue with. If you have two shafts which all players should have on their main playing cue, switch one shaft to the Kamui and see how it compares to your Talisman.

I'm sure there are incredible cue tips I've never tried and I wish I could get the original Moori tips.
For some reason, the Kamui Black Clear tips just plays better when you go down one range in hardness.
So if you're playing a hard tip now and decide to try Kamui Black Clear, go with a medium hardness, etc.
