When I was younger and playing in the jr nat tourneys I remember this girl played lights out 9-ball.

Is she still playing and why is she not on the pro tour :)

I can remember her when she was 15, playing in a few tournaments. She played pretty well then, but I have not heard her name since then, probably 13, or 14 years.

She used to come to the Golden Cue in Albany NY to play in our Wednesday night 9 Ball tournaments. And for a young lady her age she held her own against the men here. Her mentor/tutor was Bill "chicken man" Dunsmore, who i believe now resides in Arizona somewhere. Who himself was a pretty sporty player and had played in many pro events. Last i had heard about Karen is that she has completed her college studies and has a very lucrative job. I want to say that she is some type of engineer but my memory may be failing me a little. I know that the running joke was that she discovered boy's. She was a young and beautiful young lady the last time i had seen her...C'mon you guys from the Berkshires help us out here.....that is all i can remember..............mike

I was one of her first instructors when she was first playing at 13 or 14, she had a heart of a lion and didn't care who she played, she just wanted to beat whoever her opponent was. I taught her to play 14.1 and thats when she really came to life and won 3 BCA Junior titles in a row later. Billy Dunsmore started to take her on the road a bit when he went out of town short trips for tourneys and she got a lot of experience from that as well. (The late)Dick McConnell took over as here everyday instuctor here at the the room her father owned and he did a great job as well. She had a solid footing and was fearless. Her first big tourney was in Maine with a strong field and she landed in the finals , Kara won handily. The guy took off with the prize money, Kara had $2,500 for 1st coming and she never got it.

Anyway, Kara is doing well, I see her father a few times a week and Kara about once a month comes down and knocks balls around. She is a very bright woman and did finish college with highest of grades. Companies have fought over her and she has a very lucrative job, she is soon to be married and happy. Kara does not play competatively anymore, just stops and bangs balls around with her dad once a month. She has no plans of returning to pool competatively at the moment, end of story.

I'll ask her that same thing, as she drives away in her new mercedes convertible.
