Karen Corr -- Sportswoman

Watching a championship match yesterday on TV between Karen Corr and Kelly Fisher -- played in San Diego, I believe. Anyway, at a critical point in the match, Corr called a foul on herself. She'd very slightly moved a ball near the cue ball while executing her shot. Nobody had seen it but her. This came just after Kelly had very luckily kissed in the 9-ball on the break -- the second time in the match Kelly had done that.

In that situation, lots of players would have been tempted to keep their mouths shut. Not Karen, and I felt she deserved some props on this board for her honesty. Kelly went on to win the championship, but Karen no doubt won some new fans. Me, I've always like her and her game. But now, more than ever.

It is really common practice to call fouls on yourself in Snooker, but it is very nice to see that she has carried this over to the pool world where maybe this same thing doesn't happen as much.
