I was was interested in maybe buying the katana 3 Series shaft. I have the original Katana shaft and it's not very low deflection and I don't use it, but I'm just trying to find a "WOOD" shaft that's about 12.5 and has low of deflection. And i am interested in this shaft. However, I cannot find any reviews for it.
So I am wondering if any of you have used it, and what your thoughts are on it? An d how it might compare to the original Katana shaft?

Why not just get a Predator 314-3 shaft? 12.75 is not that far from 12.5, and after a few tip replacements and sanding the shaft as part of maintenance, it'll get to 12.5.

Look at BD(Bob Danielson) SS360 shafts. Really nice.

Wood LD shafts can be trimmed down on a lathe. But buy whatever LD shaft you want and just have it trimmed down. A few years ago I bought a predator 314-3 from Seyberts and I had them trim it to 12.5mm

Get a well made Kielwood shaft. I got my first one made by Cory Barnhart last October and it is low defection.
It plays better than any maple shaft my cue makers made for the cues I ordered. You have a lot of choices and
to avoid imposing my beliefs about how a shaft should be made, just find one you like. You don’t need to buy the
most expensive version either. Just take the time to find what you like. IMO, you will never go back. I just ordered
two additional KW shafts built to my specs. Once you find a well made KW shaft, any concerns over deflection will
be eliminated once and for all. And Kielwood shaft feel so much better than CF shafts. Best of luck with your search.

The issue that you might face in this instance, depending on the material/s used in the ferrule, is ferrule failure. The ferrules on some of these production shafts are made from materials like xtc, etc, and are already extremely thin walled.

You trim them down even further, and you may as well plan on replacing the ferrule with something along the lines of Masons Micarta, Hydex, or Tomahawk.

Just some food for thought.

I already got a predator 314_3 shaft and dont care for it.

I am not looking for recommendations on other shafts. I posted to see if anyone has had any experience with the katana 3 shaft. Thanks
