Heres a closeup of the skull cue. This is done with pen and ink, all hand done dot by dot, took over 60 hours to do.

That skull cue is a trip! When I heard about it I was skeptical, but the artist's talent is evident. A one of a kind cue that should play superbly. Stop by booth 100 at Valley Forge and try a Kent Davis cue out. See for yourself what the radially laminated forearm contributes to how the cues look and play. Thanks for the photos Eddie--your birdseye purpleheart KD cue looks great.

Lisa, the cue will be available for sale. You going? Stop by and visit please. Martin

So, will that Skull cue be available in VF, or is it already pre-sold?

Those cues are very nice. The skull cue is a very old form of art called Stippling. It is done by tiny dots used heavily and lightly in areas to create the shape. Most stippling drawing do not have a regular drawing to go by , they are all free hand done. I only know this due to I have done this for years , making my oldest daughter a unicorn drawing when she was a baby, she is now graduating from high school.
Very unique to see it done in cues, nice work.

the skull looks great. thats some crazy stippling. i could never do it. it takes up way to much of my time.

skull cue

The artist could only work on the cue for about 2-3 hours at a time. He was too tired mentally and physically to work on it more than that. I also didn't realize that pen and ink on a round object has a different perspective! There was also no erasing and he could not smear his recent work. I hope many of you stop by and see the exceptional detail on this cue. You can read some more about the artist and the cue at the SBE. Hope to see you there (I'll be the one asleep in the booth), Kent

I will be with Martin at booth 100 (westerncue.com). I would love to meet some of the brethren from AZB. I will have test shafts and cues for people to hit with. We are right next to the challenge tables and I'm sure some of my other cue maker friends/ retailers will be glad to let us have some table time. Please come by and introduce yourself! Kent

Kent,

Everything looks great!

My brother said thanks again for the tour of the shop. He's on a plane right now to start his hike.

Knock em dead at VF.

I definitely know about stippling and other forms of pen/ink techniques. That is what I use to do all the way until I got my degrees in architecture....now I'm on a computer most all day....

Great looking cues!

I will try to get a more complete set of photos at the SBE. Thanks for the compliments, Kent

Flying out of SoCal in hours...

Looking forward to seeing you as well Chris! Ariel couldn't make it this year, so we have Paul Drexler and Kenny "wrapmaster" Koo pinch hitting. Kent will be there, of course, and Tang Hoa will be coming by too. I'm hoping we don't end up with freezing rain and snow this year!
