Hey Keither,

Always enjoy watching you play and hoping you come to Rochestor this weekend.

I am a decent player and a lot of people ask me what the secret to pool is and how I play.

My answers is feel. Feel the direction of both balls...feel the little subleties of english. Its all gravity and friction....

I tell people to watch YOU play and they will get an understanding of what I mean....You just get down and fire because you have a real good feel and touch for the game. I woul venture to guess that you don't concern yourself with ANYTHING on the table other than making whitey move around.

I have never really talked to you, but I would guess that the last thing on your mind when you play is pocketing the ball....When you are playing, the only thing you are doing when shooting is "feeling" the direction and speed of the cueball. Pocketing the ball is a given and is really an afterthought.

This is how my approach to the game has developed and I think is the key to playing good pool. Touch...

Am I way off base????

ZigZag, thanks for your kind words.

You are not off base. It is a lot easier for me to make balls when I have the right feels. Having a good cue stick that I am comfortable with and knowing what I can do with my tip are important to me. Knowing the different balances in the cue stick will make the shots a lot easier, and that is how "feels" play an essential role in shot execution.
