Background:
The cues are made by Zylr Cues – Deceased 2007 – a dozen or so cues per year.
All of the cues are solid. No weight bolts, or hollow chambers.
The playing cue of Olivewood and Curley Maple has two matching shafts and was started years ago when the lumber was turned round, in humidity and temperature monitored shop.
The Sneaky Pete has two matching shafts. The 2nd cue started life as a house cue 50 years ago, and has a great figure in the wood that shimmers. Then new rings, a new horn butt cap were also threaded and glued. Also because the cue was larger and chunkier in those old days of the 1950's, the entire cue was trimmed down at an angle to end up with all points of equal length, when you spin it or roll it on the table. After the front was cut off, lead was added in two places, and cored and threaded maple dowels were inserted and glued, to have a solid cue.

The matching Curley Maple Jump Cue handle is the correct weight and length and has a laminated shaft to hit hard.

All of these cues have a phenolic for its joint protector and the joint rings on the two matching shafts, that matches the rings on all of the cues. Perfect balance, weight, dimensions, and wood stability. All of the moose horn butt caps, and buck horn joints, and buckhorn joint protectors, match their continually tapered shafts. All of the cues are solid, no weight bolts, or hollow chambers. All natural parts were threaded and then glued into threaded components, before special glues were used.
The case has Basswood racks that form to and hold the shafts and cues without undue pressure, to safely store cues. An heirloom quality "ONE OF A KIND" custom matched set of cues, housed in a special Quilted Maple case, with a Copper full length piano hinge, and highest quality billiard cloth two-tone lining.
Why wait forever for a new Zylr cue. The master woodworkers Zylr has passed on and Floridafred has retired. Feel the difference of quality of these "PLAYERS" cues. The resonance of each natural horn and wood components have been carefully chosen, thought out, using seasoned wood, for balance, hit, feel, feedback, and stability, to make some great playing cues. The cues and cases have stopped being constructed. There are no odd and needless inlays or rings in the front forearm, handle area, and none in front of the butt sleeve to upset the resonance for a great hit with great feedback.
