Kevin Trudeau and the IPT

I occasionally browse the IPT website for latest developments and noticed Kevin Trudeau has a Question and Answer section in which he addresses, among other things, the comparison between himself and Don King, IPT rules, his intentions, and his past. What questions do you have and would like to see answered?

Mine:

You’ve known Mike Sigel for years. Why the (seemingly) sudden interest in pool? Why create this tour now?

What criteria do you consider when accepting applicants into the tour, and who selects the players?

What do you think of those sceptical of your past and your intentions of this tour?

Will members of the IPT be prohibited from playing in other tours?

What is your stance on gambling?

Do you plan on including nine-ball, or any other games, in the IPT in the future, or will the tour always be eight-ball only?

I can Answer 3 of them for you

It's not a sudden interest, he has always been interested in pool and sought Mikes help in improving his game as a private teacher. The idea to have a tour has also been floating around for a while and he feels now is the best time with Poker tournaments doing well for a while, pool can be marketed in a similar way and be successful.

IPT members will not be prohibited from going on any other tours or tournaments, the same may not be true about other tours allowing players to join the IPT, the WPA has made some mention of some sort of action against those who join the IPT, which I find ridicules.

All 8-ball for now, no 9-ball, I personally would love to a special straight pool tournament, but I asked a few times and there are no plans for anything but 8-ball. It's not say if the tour works out well and maybe 3 years down the road hopefully a special tournament can be held for straight pool, but I'm not holding my breath.

2 months to go!
