What do you know or think of Dave Kikel Custom Cues?
I found one I like, but have never shot with one before.

(I'm only looking for opinions on this, not trying to compare Kikel cues to anyone elses!)

Thanks,
Zim

gee, you really like that whole ebony and curly maple thing don't you... lol

Thanks

Jon

P.S. I think it's a great combo too.

Hi Zimmer,
Dave Kikle is one of the "BEST" cuemakers who ever took a breath. Very good craftsman. He's also one who can play.......

Neat, clean and striking designs. KQ's are kick-ass cues...

I love the way the two woods accent each other and the options are limitless as to what both woods can be used for, butt, forearm, points, inlays, butt caps, joint collars, rings, etc.

Zim

I heard that Dave could play as well as he build cues!
Thanks Blud, it says alot about Dave Kikel's work when you compliment him like that!

My buddy owes a Kikel cue.. It looks like a sneaky pete cue.. Curly maple forearm with cocobolo butt and 4 rosewood points inlaid bewteen the curly maple and cocobolo. A hoppe ring at the bottom with KQ's logo.

I have been playing with one of Dave"s cues since 1999. One of the best hitting cues in my collection. He will talk to ya anytime.
Great guy with great cues.
Don

Hi Don. Scotty Townsend is playing with a Kikel cue now. I hit a few balls with it and fell in love with it. The one Scotty has is like the one Benny's buddy has, a sneeky pete but Scotty has wrapped, get this, electrical tape around the butt. Of course the only check Scotty has cashed lately is the refund check from the Betty Ford Clinic, LOL,,Later.

Hey man, they didn't give me no refund check. Still having a beer and bong hit break when I have to mow the lawn. We refer to it as a B & B break.
I have one of Dave's American Beauty Cues. Told me he made three.
Later. Don

I have owned many cues in my life, but never a Kikel. They do hold most of their re-sale value. But they are a bit high. Kinda like Southwest and Richard Harris, nice cues but overpriced.

All could purchaes cues that are "cheaper" but will they last and hold there value. No.

That's what put me over the edge on this cue, the butt cap is curly maple as well as the forearm! I'm waiting for a reply back from the seller!

Zim

I hope you get it, Zim. Cues with intricate ornamentation are beautiful, but it's the simpler cue made of one stunning specimen of wood, or two woods that subtly compliment each other, that always does it for me. Graced by the right cuemaker, a sneaky pete or plain jane is far from plain.

I have known three people who have Kikel sneakys and love them. One stripped the finish all the way off both ends to make it dirty to take to bars. Can't see the joint and it it dirty from ferrule to bumper. Looks like right off the rack.

High, hell, I paid $1,475.00 for mine in 99". I think he is more reasonable than a whole bunch of them. Great cue at a great price. You can't find a Schon that plays this well at any price.

Daredevil Scotty, rest in peace my old friend. I'm sure you are running six packs up there. Enjoy, I'll be there one day, seven ahead for a thousand?

Huh?? i was serious. the thread was about kikel cues and he found one post in a 20yr old thread that referred to scotty. it says he's a new member yet his join date is 2010. kinda weird.
like I said, should be a warning that you're posting on a thread that's old as dirt. He probably wouldn't have done it then

the searches aren't dated, so if he searched on Kikel cues and the only post was 20 years old, it's easy enough to post to it.
