I put this in the regular forum section and someone advised me to put it in the mechanics forum.
I have a chance of picking up a Kim Steel bar box. I will be using it as my home practice table. I would like to know how it plays , is it built well, is it worth picking it up for a home table, etc. I have only played on Diamonds and Valleys and would like to know how it compares to those. THNX

If they are built like the 9 footers you will be very happy. ONky draw back is they are hard to find parts for and a little tricy to recover. I had 10 of them at the hall i use to manage

Diamond

Hi,
I've worked on KS bar boxes as well as nine footers. They are tricky to recover. You'll figure it out but it's just not the same. I would say grab up a diamond. The resell value is much better thus lowering the cost of ownership. In the future (5-7 years) diamond will be industry standard. I think in the long run you'll just be happier. Not to mention pro cut pockets. They make you play so much more accurate. I have all pro cut nine foots in my room. I play everyday. Went to visit a nearby room recently. Matched up in a game I felt I was a dog in. To my surprise I stuck a 5 pack on this guy. Btw I have never ran more than 2 racks in my room. The difference was they had bucket gold crown's. Moral of the story...... Buy a pro cut Diamond. It will make you a better player. Hope that helps
