Guys, I don't know if this has been discussed before. But I am looking at buying a table and this guy has a 9' Kim Steele table that I'm thinking about buying. It seems to be in really great shape. I have never heard of this brand of table before. It has a steel frame and seems to be well built. Can someone tell me if this is a quality table and how much it might be worth?

We have 10 of them here at our room and Everyone loves them. They play very true. They are made to last. We releveled ours after 6 months on the new carpet, that was 6 years ago and all are level and play the same. We have 860 cloth on ours and they play fast not super super fast but a good speed for all games. Hope I helped. Any more questions feel free to ask.

I would say used for one table depending if it is still in great shape $2500-3000 used for one in great shape. My opinion though. Not sure what they have sold for in the past used.

Thanks for the reply. The guy is asking $2500, so I guess that is not a bad price. He is also 7 miles from my house which is a plus. The table seems to play very true. I was hoping to hear from some mechanics about the table. I also would like to know if it is possible for me to move it without dissassembling it.

I don't really know anything about this particular table, but I am convinced that steel frames are very good things. I built my own steel frame from off-the-shelf square steel tubing, and it came out very flush and true.

I would suggest that if you can, get under the table and see if there is any shimming between the steel frame and slate. If there is not, that is good. If there is, I would wonder why. If the steel frame is true, you can do 4-corner leveling.

Steel 2" square tubing goes for about $2.10 per foot. Therefore, a steel table should not cost more than a wood one.

You should disassemble the table 3 piece slate 250lbs+ each plus i think the frame is one piece if I remember right.

What is good about the table are

1. leveling screws just like gc4.

2. rail tops are replaceable removeable skins slide off slide on.

3. the pocket cut looks big but plays tighter then a stock gc4 or gc3.

You might still be able to get parts for them from meucci they were the importer for awhile, not sure who is now.

best of luck with the table they play great.

ive played on kim steele tables for years, my home pool room that closed up last year was full of them. As a matter of fact Im thinking of purchasing one, he offered one to me for 2k set up with new cloth. I dont know what the tables are worth, i think they play pretty well. If i had to rank them id put them second behind diamond professional, and just ahead of a gold crown.
