Where is the King? Just like Reed Pierce, he seems to have dropped off of the Pro circuit. No U.S. Open or any heavy action since that I have seen.
Pa. fan,

I'm a fan of his as well, but all I've heard of him lately is some Joss NE tour appearances. I have alot of his straight pool instructional stuff, and I'd love to see him shoot in person someday.

He was in my booth at this years Hopkins and at the July BCA show entertaining. He is around. What a great champion, king james, what else can you say.

Until the 9 ball tour gets real events going on every month, then every week and some serious money up where the top 25 can make a true living just playing tourney pool and support families you are going to see more and more champions find other ways to live. It's not their fault, it's that the game they love and devoted their entire lives to is letting them down. They are not leaving pool, pool has left them and given them no other alternative. It breaks my heart to have lived to see this. Do not shoot the messenger, shoot the people who did this to pool, not me. I am nothing but a simple reporter of what the current news is. You can of course read billiards digest and they will tell you everything is wonderful and 50 million people are playing the game. If that is true, then how come they only sell 12,000 magazines a year, can that be the true figure of who's actually left. :D

BD averaged 12,663 paid subscriptions for the previous year. That comes to 151,956 copies sold last year. Geez Larry, do you expect us to believe anything you say?

Hi boarwolf,

BD circulation sucks doesn't it. Who pays any attention to what is in it. LOL. Month old news and all.

14.1 King James was on my floor at the Radisson Hotel last year at Valley Forge I am sure he will play in the men's pro tournament if you have time to see him.

Cheers,

Gremlin

It's circulation sucks because there really isn't that much to write about, the same with all the other pool mags. Same old recycled instructional articles, tournament results you already know if you care about the game (sport). I subscribe to 1 magazine and I'm not quite sure why since there is rarely anything worth reading in it.
When you think about it their circulation probably isn't that bad, how many dedicated pool players are there afterall. :(
