this is one of the biggest obstacles i see preventing most people from getting to the next level that i see daily both in the pool room and in the bar leauges. i would like to help by saying (all u can do is play the best u can based on your present ability). for example if im watching and 8 ball match between say 2 solid skill level 5's or 6's they break the balls make a nice run ...and now here it comes the inner demon and our body gets tight and he says dont mess this up u have 2 balls and the 8 left on the table. all u have to do is make this ball and get shape etc etc... dont miss!!! everyone is watching. and what happens? u produce exactly what u fear ....and u say to yourself how did i mess that up,how did i miss, and u are so hard on yourself that it affects your whole match and ruins your day or week......we all have to understand that if that happens alot that we are not quite ready yet to consistently break and run and make all the right decisions and make all the balls we think we should make all the time in pressure situations (includes all skill levels)....unless u play pool for a living or play 10 hours a day 7 days a week dont expect so much from your self ....this game is very difficult to play and get to a high level, u must put in the time and dedication to get there jus like every other sport. most people dont have that kind of time because u have a life and a job and a family etc... which is why i say... know where u stand and that u can only play the best that u can based on your present skill level....its only a game but a great game ... try to enjoy it and have a positive attitude all the time.... i could write forever about this topic but hopefully this enough for now to help u know where u stand
