I knew both of them well. All three of us partnered up in an attempt to start a nationwide pro pool tour in the 1980's. We put together a proposal that we submitted to the BCA at their annual meeting in Chicago. It was at a time they were flush with money. Our proposal called for twelve tournaments, each with a $100,000 purse to be held in major cities across the U.S. They were all to be televised on the final day. We were asking for two million to produce this tour. The BCA had well over this amount in their coffers at the time (double!). To this day I think it could have been the start of something big for pool in this country and the world. My "pitch" to them was that by creating this tour we would sell a lot of cue sticks, pool tables and everything else that they manufactured, and open up a whole new market for them. We got turned down, and the Professional Pool Tour never happened.

In closing I will only say that Cole and Joe were good partners for me. They had faith in my ability to pull it off if we could get the backing we needed at the time. They were both enthusiastic about producing this tour and were ready to help in any way to make it happen. I'm sorry we failed. Thanks anyway guys! You both have a place in my heart forever.
