I was wondering if the Lake Michigan Fury tournament scheduled for Sept. 17 & 18 at Pro Tyme in Orland Park, IL is still going to take place?

I see she posted another event in Orlando,FL for this weekend but that's not exactly Orland Park.

This is the response I recieved after e-mailing KBP on Mon. about the Orland Park tourn. this weeekend! Not exactly the answer I was looking for...any additional info. would help!

"As of right now yes. I have some problems with TD's in that area. I am sorry that it is a conflict but I am steadily working on it and taking many applications for that position. We are trying to build it up in that area and if you have any suggestions please feel free to contact us."

At least I am trying. With all the crap I've gotten from that area and the way the people up there are its a wonder anyone wants to have events up there. I guess the people from the south are nicer and try harder and don't downgrade people all the time. I am trying to build up something I think is worth it for the industry and the pool players and all the northerns are doing is being sarcastic. If you would look at all the other places I have tournaments and people that work for me and with no problems you'd then see the whole picture. I have had money stolen from the tour which I am the one who has to make it up but yet I am in there and still fighting. Why don't you be sarcastic with someone else.

BTW: If you want to know something call me 877-328-7449. I will from this point on post events. This forum is suppose to be for the information of events and things that are happening in the industry. It should be used with a positive attitude and not with ridicule. I was once told that the people who sit here and post the negative aspects are not the real pool players. They are just people that play pool and like to have havac in their lives. I post events on here to help those that don't know of the events that are pool players. I wish all of you luck in all your ventures

Kay,
If your responses are directed toward me, I think you may have misunderstood me. By, " not the answer I was looking for...", I simply meant that the tournament is less than a week away and it is a little difficult to make plans, based on your answer. "As of right now yes" Yes or no, either way, fine. I am inquiring the info. for my boyfriend who since playing on the LMT has only gotten to play in two tournaments, and one which we drove an hour and a half and no tournament was held. I can certainly appreciate the issues you are having, however I don't think it's fair or necessary for you to say that the people in this area aren't nice. Again, just trying to make plans for a tournament that has been scheduled since the beginning. With at least an hour driving time, I wanted to make sure it was going to take place. I am sorry if you misundertood my concern as sarcasm.

I am sorry but its just that so much has happened up there with money stolen and td's that are falling on the wayside and not running things right. The players are complaining. I have a total of 7 divisions with more expansions and 5 TD's that work for me and I have never had the problems with any of them and most of them have been with me for 2-3 years that I have had with the TD's up there. Not once but twice. Not receiveing the players money, having them overcharge the players and its been a nightmare and they've blamed me for it all. Its real simple the way it works. The TD gets $10 per player capping at the added monies. If they promote and run it right then they can make a good bit of money but instead they just have run it in the ground and its frustrating for me when I have so much success in all the other areas. And it also hurts me to see the players getting the run around. I am doing the best I can at this point with the issues up there. I am sorry if I went off but I really want this to work up there and every where so that the amateur players will have some place to play on their level. I just can't figure out how to make it work up there.

More info?

I am assuming now that there will be a td there. Out of curiousity, "Woody" or is he the other td, you had problems with? Even, with three days until Sat., I think it would be safe to say that there could potentially be a decent turn out. For anyone who has been to Pro Tyme, they know the quality of the room and owners is absolutely outstanding!! If you have a td lined up for this event, post the tournament. I'm sure there will be plenty of players, there is still time for them to find by word of mouth!

I've never had problems with Woody so he is not one of them. He has had some family illness this time around. He has been working for me for 2 years. He has been doing promoting for me but up untill the problem with Jennifer and then he stepped into to help me out which I have greatly appreciated.

Kay,
Just one last thing...I'm not sure if I overlooked the answer, but, will there be a tournament director at ProTyme this Sat.? If possible could you please post something definite ASAP? Thanks in advance and good luck to you with all of your struggles!!

talked to owner of Pro Tyme

I just spoke to Ed the owner of Pro Tyme and he said the tournament was canceled. He said he canceled it right after the first event took place.any questions you may call Pro Tyme at 708-403-0600.

The tournament director will be there but now I find out that it was cancelled without my knowledge. It was not cancelled with the office or no one contacted me or the new td. Jennifer might have had it cancelled but thanks for the update and I will call and verify before any of us make a trip there.
Thanks again for the info.

To all players:
I am sorry but the event was cancelled by Ed at Pro Tyme. I just got off the phone with him. He was sorry about it and thought that I had known about it. He stated that he told Jennifer that he did not want another event but no information was given to me about this. We are going to keep going this season and revamp for next year. I would appreciate any input the players would like to give me to see the amateur tour build in that area. email me at kbp_amateur9-ball@gate.net
Thanks and sorry

Concerned

I don't get caught up in the politics of this tour I just like playing in tournaments but with all this talk of the GL cancelling tournaments i'm a little concerned about the Midwest division. I drove an hour and forty minutes to Waterford MI. for a stop which they didn't have, the next one is in Portage, MI. which is two hours away for myself before I make that drive are they still gonna have that tournament?

Yes, if enough players show up.If not enough players show up then the room doesn't want to put up the money. We may can adjust the added so we can still have it. We have many plans and are sorry about the politics. We are really trying to over come what had happen in that area and so want to continue. Thanks
