My Lambros with the new ultimate joint and regular (non-ld) shaft has less deflection than anything out there and feels like a dream. It feels literally like zero deflection.

Trust me when I tell you,if your talking Deflection, there's a massive difference betweenSo you found that there was no difference in deflection with the stock Lambros shaft and the z2?
I am interested in picking up a Lambros cue but I currently play with a z2.
Trust me when I tell you,if your talking Deflection, there's a massive difference between
Mikes shafts and a Z-2 shaft. Were talking apples and concrete in that matter.
I still think Mikes regular shafts deflect less than his LD shafts. It could be that
his regular shafts have better feel.
Can someone confirm the difference between the ultra joint and the ultimate joint?
Thanks
Got my cue yesterday and shot about 5 hours with it. Put me officially in the loving the lambros club. No problem switching from the z2 to the lambros ld shaft. No adjust period. Cue is so nicely balanced it is quite a pleasure to hit with. Wish I knew what kind of tips were on it. Seller didnt know and I'm pretty sure they aren't the original ones but they work great on the shafts. They are black but are not kamui's; they layers are not quite as tight as kamuis. Any way loving the stick and will make it my main player.
The only thing I know is that Mike recently started doing ultimate joints. Looks like his ultimate joint with LD shaft is a great combination.
Anyone have more info on this ?? May be [Hourstoer] can chime in with more info.
What kind of "joint" you have on your cue ?
Actually I thought I read he only did ultimate joints for a little. Had a problem with them warping when sending overseas so he stopped. To my knowledge now he only does the ultra joints. I read that somewhere but not sure where now. On his website he only talks about the ultra joint. I'm sure the guy that would know would be Chrippa. From what I've seen on here he seems to be the lambros expert.
This above is not correct !! The ultimate joint is Mikes newest joint that he offers, He makes the ultra joint still which is what Houstoer's cue has, The joint that he stopped makeing is the ultra joint 2. which had the radial pin instead of his 3/8x10. From what was said was the only issue with that joint was when it was oversea's the shaft was really tight to get off for them. So thats why I was told he stopped useing that joint. But as I said before new ultimate joint was just started being offered this year when I recived my cue . Hope this helps...

Cool thanks for the clarification. So what's the difference between the ultimate and ultra? I knew somewhere I read something..lol. Ed
So that beautiful Josey I sold you is just gonna sit in the case now???
I thought you'd play it forever by how excited you were![]()
Just a different design ,Better off to contact Lambros shop ,,but looks to me as the pilot is little longer and is machined different as well as the joint where they compress together,, I know it makes the cue play different to me. I loved the hit of the ultra joint but when I was down there one day I played with thier player rep's and pro players cue Rob Saez , And it was like driveing tacks hitting the balls in.. I had no problems moveing the cue ball or makeing any shots. So as soon as I tried it I ask if I could have that joint in my cue and Im glad i did. I mean I loved the way my cue with the ultra joint played. But to me Im glad I had this new one made with the ultimate joint, << ED![]()
Oh I'm gonna keep it bro. Its still a beautiful cue that hits great. I kind of run into what you did though. I started playing in some leagues that that we travel into bars that aren't that great so I wanted a good playin cue that didn't stick out so much for those bars. This Lambros is exactly that. Its beautiful but doesn't scream $$$$$ unless you know what you're looking for and the hit to it is excellent. What did you buy after selling the Josey?
Well I was playing with my Keith Kue while I had the Josey still.
Since then I bought a BHQ and a Sugartree though.
Cool thanks for the clarification. So what's the difference between the ultimate and ultra? I knew somewhere I read something..lol. Ed
From what I was told, Mike made the ultimate joint so that the cue is easier to assemble. Anyone who's shot for hours on end with the ultra joint knows how difficult it can be to unassemble.I had the ultimate joint for about a month before I traded the cue for one with the ultra. Can't say I feel much of a difference performance-wise, but I can say I miss being able to easily unscrew. Played in a tourney for 6+ hours a few weeks ago and looked like a monkey trying to unassemble after my last match with sweaty, talc-y hands.
Also, to the OP, the tip might be an "ultra skin"? They're also black but don't hold their shape as well as Kamuis (IMO). I know Mike offers ultra skins when he ships for a few more bucks than the triangles or le pros or whatever he puts on. I tried them out, didn't like them, went back to Kamui blacks.
