Laminated shafts

Break'em dry !

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Tim Scruggs cue that I am very happy with. It came with 2 laminated shafts, 13mm each.
I would like to get them tapered down to 12.5mm but I am afraid it might damage them.
Without offending anyone, any cuemaker will be able to do it or should I send them back to Tim so he can alter them ?

Thanks and Happy Holidays !

My suggestion is to send them back Tim. That way ,the shafts will be retapered to his taper and set up.Also, they will have the same finsh and feel on the shafts.
Not saying someone else can't do it, but it then still makes it a Tim Scruggs cue.

Vlad,
A steady hand and some patience by a cue repairman with a good reputation should be able to sand the shafts down easily while maintaining the same taper.
I recommend getting only a single shaft taken down which would be the one you are going to play with and leaving a shaft at the full 13mm to preserve as much value as possible.

Vlad,
If you'd like to send it to Seybert's, I'd be happy to take of this for you.
Patrick is correct in his suggestion to just have one shaft turned down, for the reason he stated.
I can maintain the existing taper or modify it to one that may suit you better.

But as I think of it, I believe there may be a couple of CMs up your way that could do a fine job for you and avoid the cross-border shipping.
