Laquer over linen?

How easy is it for a cue maker to clear coat over linen. Just curious? I like wrapless cues but sometimes i find a cue with a linen wrap that i like the balance and weight. How easy is this to do and how much does it usually cost?

It can certainly be done, Meucci does it everyday.
A concern for me would be finish-compatibility.
Would the finish I'm using to cover be compatible with what's already on the cue ?
Lacquer would probably not be my first choice unless that's what's on the cue now.
A little forethought, some prep-work and success could be had.

i have tried 2 methods , 1 seal linnen or wrap material then spray several coats of auto clear, 2nd is just spray clear , let dry and snad any rough spots and respray..

I have sprayed auto on many wraps and works fine on the dark wraps but if its a white with any spot the wrap has a wet look and is dark, I thought about using laquer first to seal because it drys fast.
