Large to small, building from the ground up.

Billiards aiming should progress from large to small. The physical act of shooting should progress from large to small as well.

The foundation is so often glossed over.
It is not flashy but it is critical much the same as the foundation for any large construction.
People laugh at Earl for his ankle weights.
Guess what? The weights help set a good solid foundation much the same as footings for a structure.
The stance should be entered much the same as a dance step.
I remember the one two three of dance lessons and practicing entering the stance in the same fashion is required.

Not sure if this is kosher to reply to self.

Standing upright facing the shot from a full step back. Align your core with the shot. Some teach the chin, I was taught the belly button.

Step forward onto the line of aim;
Small stutter with the other foot is common or just one stride with the rear foot to land with the instep on the line.

Practice, practice, practice the right way.

Sound advice.

But the ankle weights and bee keepers suit are still a little weird and funny as hell, right?

I do find Earl unusual, not so funny. Except for maybe the flowers.

Moe Norman was odd.
Norman was known for sometimes unconventional behavior on the course. It is said that on one hole his caddie told him he could get to the green with a driver and a 9-iron. Naturally, he hit off the tee with his 9-iron and then hit the green with his driver. In another event, rather than lay up short of a creek hazard which could not be carried, he bounced his drive across the bridge which crossed the creek.

We plugged golf legend Moe Norman’s swing into a shot tracer app. The results were amazing.
How did it he do it? It’s all in his mechanics, Graves says.

“The problem is that many players have so many movements and rotations in their swing, which makes them very reliant on timing,” he says. “Moe’s swing relied on very simple basics. The way he hit it consistently because he made it very easy for himself to get back to impact.”

This matches my theory on the pool stroke as well.
