I just noticed today that Larry Nevel is having additional medical problems, and has spend some time back in the hospital recently. He had insurance that helped cover his earlier amputation, but apparently now he has none. A fundraiser has been started on facebook to help him offset some of the medical costs. I am including the link to the fundraiser below. If anyone wants to contribute I know it will be appreciated.

Just an update on Larry. He is no where near his goal of $15K which he needs to buy a van to get around. He seems to be getting worse.
Be nice if he got his van at least. Donate today, even a fin goes a long way, whatever you can spare. I only met Larry once, at DCC, that was years ago. But, always been a fan of his. The GO FUND ME link is at the bottom, and send some coin, if you are able :)

As everyone knows, I lost half of my right leg on Christmas day of 2018 due to diabetes and MRSA. Everything was healing well until Christmas of 2020 where due to diabetes they removed all the way to the hip of my right side. Now due to sores and only being able to use my left leg to transfer they are removing either half my foot or amputating just below the knee. So now not being able to transfer on my own we have to get a handicap vehicle, transfer bars, transfer seats. Pretty much a whole new life and ways to get around. Which if anyone knows, anything about these expenses, they know its outrageous. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Holy crap that sucks! Larry was still playing really strong pool in a wheelchair last year too. In fact, he won the tournament that I took third place in. The tournament included a mix of B, A, and maybe a AA player or two. Based on how good he still shot pool, it appeared that he had adjusted to a wheel chair just fine. But now this...:(
