After a tremendous Blaze tour stop drawing some of the area's top players with names like George Sansouci ("Ginky"), Danny Basavich ("Kid Delicious"), Matt Krah, Shawn "Get Some" Wilkie, Shane Winters, Joey Testa, Mike Miller, "Little" Joey Landi, and many more...

Sandcastle Billiards' house pro, Al Lapena played the young and very talented Shane Winters of Rochester, NY in a race to ten, 10-ball for $500 a set.

Shane wasn't playing his game yet in the first set as Al won it 10-6.

Then on the 2nd set, time was wearing on Al as Shane was still fresh and took the first two games. Al caught up and the two players batlled for a bit. Lapena woke up with a second wind and took a 3 game lead at 8-5. Then a beautiful run of the rack by Al Lapena ended up in a rattled 10 ball that shocked everyone as that would have put him on the hill. After that roll, Shane was able to capitalize and put another game up for himself right away making it 8-7. After a couple racks were traded, the score was now 9-8 in Lapena's favor. Rack #17 was a safety battle on the 8 ball that left Lapena a makable but tough 3 ball out. His attempt was unsuccessful and allowed Winters to make it HILL-HILL!!! Shane breaks the final rack in this set and scratches in the side pocket. The 10 ball stops by the upper right corner and the 1 ball comes back up table about a foot and a half away from the 10! Al Lapena takes ball-in-hand and makes the combo for the set. OUCH! What a way to end a $1,000 swing rack!!!

Stay tuned for more!...
