Normally I don't care to share personal experiences at pool. Mainly becasue I don't have any that are very spectacular. Last night on the other hand was pretty good and I have to share.
I was playing scoth doubles 9 ball with the owner of the local pool hall. Who is a great older gentelman about 70 yrs old. (Makes the story all the better.) We were playing another older guy and a mid 20's who makes pools his life (you all know the type).
To start of the set we made it a race to 7 for time and we won the break. I was to break first and made a joke across the pool hall to my partener "Yeah I'm going to make the 9 if it's ok to you!". I broke and sure enough I made it. Next rake I broke again and again made the joke, I broke jawed the 9 and sewered. No problem we still ended up winning that game.
Then the best part of the story. My partener (Nicest man you would want to meet) gets up to break the 3rd set and what do you know he makes the 9. on his next 4 breaks he made the 9 every time in the same pocket to get us the set 7 - 0 and it only took about 10min. 5 - 9's in a row in the same set.
I will have to say that during this set we maybe were throwing a few jabs here and there. Side note we also went on to win the next race to 7 in fine form.
I had to share the story because of the joy it brought my partener.
