I had to be the one who shot the last 8 ball in order for us to go to Vagas for the APA event. I'm down on the table I shot and jar the 8 man did I feel like crap. I felt like I let the team down and boy the team captain would not evan shake my hand when the everything was over, But I took my beating like a man and stayed until the end. all well, I have to find a new team to be on, but that is ok. It was my first time playing in an event like this, the presser was intense and I lost it, but I had a great time and I will be back oneway or another. Thanks Walter N. :p

Some people put teams together for the sole purpose of getting to Vegas. If that's their cup of tea then so be it. The few times that I shot on a league it was to be on a team with friends, have fun and shoot a little pool. Were you on a team that was put together for the specific purpose of going to Vegas? Whether it was a team of friends or a strong team put together so that you could go to Vegas, there's still absolutely no excuse for not shaking your hand and for making you find another team to play on. You were a big part of why your team got as far as it did and I assure you that the captain of the team has not only missed balls but missed them under pressure. Sounds to me like you're better off without them. No one is perfect and the pro's not only miss balls but they've been known to miss them in clutch situations too. You've got a good outlook on it... shake it off and come back next yr. Best of luck to you. ;)

Screw Um

Next year, you go back and beat your old team. No big deal buddy. We all been there. Your team captain is a schmuck, you are the good guy here.
Purdman

Timberly said it well. Shake it off and get away from that captain.

I had a teammate lose the 5th set on the hill to go to Vegas and he called me for a week apologizing. I told him that the last time I looked, the score was 3-2 them, not 1-0. He wasn't the only one to lose, he just happened to be last. He played great, but the other guy played one game better. Sometimes it happens that way. As it turns out, he has since shot many big matches for me and has been successful more times than not.

Hopefully, you're fortunate enough to play more matches with that much on the line and I'm sure you'll win your share of them. Those type of all or nothing matches are why we play.

Thanks all, for your kind complements. Man the adrenaline rush was cool. I never felt like that before while playing pool. It has gaving me a new reason to get better. The best part of the evant was seeing people of all shapes and sizes playing with passion and love for the game. The team was built for vegas in mind not just for fun, and boy they let me know that at the end. only two out of eight said you tried your best. The rest just walked on by right behind the captain. I will learn how to deal with presser evan if I lose for the rest of my life. Thank Walter N.

You should tell them now that you missed on purpose. Seriously, screw 'em.

Just remember that pool is fun.................

If I had a $100 for every supposed super team that did not make Vegas
I would have a nice sum. Alot never make it to their regionals. Keep your chin up. Its a team.....you win together or go down together.

This weekend our team won and made Vegas. I was the final shooter with the score 2-2. We had been there for about 16 hours before the final
match. Fatigue can wreak havoc on your game as well. If you get there again make sure you remember that and freshen up before playing. Also
take a trip to the restroom to wash up and splash a little water on your face during the match. Theres pressure but stay loose and keep firing. The more you are in those situations the easier it becomes to deal with the pressure.
I was lucky enough to get some chances and pull out a win.

If you tried your hardest then you have nothing to worry about. Live and learn. Next time when you win it for your new team it will be sweeter!!

last night i was playing.. not for any big stakes or anything at all, but i didn't make one eightball when i had the chance... so.. i mean, I still have to get over the hump of being able to actually take that step and beat someone, cause i get really nervous on any 8ball.. i still have tons of thoughts running through my brain on everyshot "i need to make this" "if i don't make this shot i'm going to look like a fool" " i need to make this shot to prove this guy wrong about my skill" etc... pressure is going to get to everyone... try in practice to give yourself incentives on making stuff, and getting things done right... cause then it gives you a reason to get nervous or atleast put some pressure on the shot..... just an idea... i think i might try it myself...

sorry to hear about the shot... but don't fret.. just think about meeting that team in the finals next year and leaving them at home again, while you go of to vegas with your buddies

Man if I could count the times I've dogged it hill-hill...

Your ex-captain sounds like a real prick if he wouldn't shake your hand. I hope you play him next time in a big tournament and he gets in the same situation and dogs it worse than you did. What a jerk that guy is.

Aww man, sorry to hear that. I hate it when the captain takes things serious like that, i was on a team which i was the best outta 15 teams and the team captain hated it when we lost, and would chew out our members. So i switched teams too, the game was suppose to be for fun, right. And the pressure man it could be intense huh, but like my daddy always told me if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger. At least you had a great time, and get them next time. Cole 'TheConArtist'
