Thanks. It is a nice cue and a good player. I got it with two original shafts and one new one. It is a 1981 cue, and this is the only one I have ever seen with this design. Any of you guys care to pm me or give a guess to its value? Thanks again.

That is the one! Thanks Joe. I knew it was not a 1 of 1, but have never seen one here on the board for sale before, nor on ebay. I like it, though.

If you go to the site under cue brochures it's actually in two of his brochures.. and there is a small write up on the back of this one..

My kind of cue. Great choice, congratulations!

Would consider a trade for a Mottey of similar design in Burl? Is that what is on your avatar?

Or a Gus, Or a Barry, Or a Ginacue, Or a Searing, Or a Black Boar.

Very nice cue. I may want to get rid of my Meucci or maybe my 1/1 Dale Perry. On second thought they may become collector cues in the future. I better hold on to them a few more years.

Really Scott, You really come across some nice cues. Later, Casey

Thanks Casey. According to the brochures Joe/Mark have on their site, this cue sold for $875 in 1981! That is still pretty serious money, but back then that was alot!

I don't know about 1981. I had the brochure posted above mailed to me back in 1993. I remember that the price on the Crown (#12) was listed at $4000 at that time.

Nice cue fior sure!

Sweet old Black there. I think I've seen that butt design on a pointed cue before....may not have been exact, but real close.

Why do they make the window in the butt sleeve this way?

Instead of inlaying the windows they sort of just put in the windows as they would do with ring work.

I seen some of Bill Stroud Joss west cue like this as well. Is this typical of a certain era in cue craftmanship?

Easier. Absolutely...very typical of most windows done in cues before and during the 80s. By the 1990 most have began inlaying them.

Sorry cuenut, no deals on my Mottey...but thanks for asking. As for the Black, I'm a big fan. Your cue has great aesthetics and Richard Black playability. I have a nice box cue from him courtesy of Bill at Cornerstone. No pics here though...this thread is about your beautiful cue.

Had to give it a shot. Your Mottey is one fine cue.
