Could anyone recommend an arbor set for 3/8 x 10 modified joints? Im looking for both the male and female pieces. Im probably going to need a few other arbor sizes as well as a couple of pins for making some joint protectors. I have looked at several of the usual sites but I guess I wanted to know if there is better quality with one company or another and I'm hoping to find American made products. Thanks for your time

Are you wanting carbide sanding mandrels, or simple lathe pin and lathe insert. Your lathe pin does not have to have the flat minor diameter to do the job. It is better for sanding mandrels to match the joint screw, but not absolutely necessary. Mine are USA made.

I guess I'm not sure what I need. I looked at the arbors but I don't see what's different. I wouldn't mind stainless arbors if I could find some. All I'm doing is cleaning shafts for now, I want whatever holds the shafts well.

If you need a specific size sanding mandrel.......... Chris makes nice ones... mine are 5 years old and I use them on every cue ........ if you only need maintenance or finishing mandrels you can buy them already made or you can make them your self if you have the joint pin and a tap for each specific thread you need............. you can make them out of delrin or aluminum..............
