Lathe break in

Is it required/necessary to break in a new motor (mid size lathe 3/4hp) I have a Jet spindle lathe that states to run motor for x amount of time at different speeds before putting under load. Was wondering if anyone does this to a new Taig cue lathe. Or do you just go for it?

No gears that needs to be run in for a while and no oil that needs to be changed, so no, apart from a good setup and clean your good to go.
