I just completed converting my old Delta wood lathe over to do tips etc.
All I need is a live center with a morse taper for the tailstock. I don't do much other than tips and burnishing, so I'm sure this will work fine.

don't have any reference to size,,,looks like your tailstock is probably a MT2.
you will need a concave live center to fit it (if my guess is right). Concave live centers are available lots of places.....from chris hightower to eBay...harbor freight sells one with interchangeable tips for about $40,,,,,,,,make sure of your size needed and order one.

your effort looks fine: remember you only have ten fingers, work carefully... j

I ordered a live center from e-bay. It is an MT2.
I was reminded that I only have ten fingers last month. I cut my right thumb in half, right up the middle through the nail, just past the first knuckle:eek: . Freak accident with the table saw. The piece I was cutting jammed between the fence and the blade, and spun my hand around. It's healing, but slow going. No use out of the joint yet, but I'm hopeful to have full use of it eventually.

OUCH!!!! :eek: :mad: :eek:

Any power tool is dangerous, but the sheer rpm's and force of a table saw is why I feel safer using my bandsaw when the cut allows me to.

Watch those fingers and hands Cheez!
