anyone know anything about a metal lathe stop button. My plastic peice broke and it comes all the way out. It worked for quite a while this way put recently I had to unplug it so I could use my big air compressor instead of the small one. I only have 1-220 hook up so I have to plug and unplug things. Anyways when I pluged the lathe back in I cant get it to operate. I took the face plate off and got to the switch, where in the world will I get a new one, its a chineese lathe. Do you think thay are universal. I though about bypassing it and just hooking a wall switch there somehow. (just Kidding??) Thanks

If it is the red emergency stop switch that when you push in the electricity is cut off until the switch is turned or pulled out then "yes" it is universal. Any larger electrical supply house will carry them. Be aware that the American one will be better made and last longer than a Chinese replacement but will also cost quite a bit more.

Yes it is the emergency stop button. I cant imagine it costing more than $10-15 bucks but I have been wrong before! I will check out an electrical supply store tomorrow. Thank You!
