It's basically all Taig lathe parts - but a nice setup for the price. Similar to a Hightower mid-size lathe. You can go to www.cartertools.com for specs and info on the various lathe parts. Taig has a good following - people make amazing things with those little lathes.

Not to say you could just build one yourself, but the guy selling the lathe has done his homework.

Very true. Having this guy set it up for you is a pretty good deal. Lathes aren't cheap no matter which one you get. There are other models available that have more upside, but you usually have to spend more money.
