I'm of the opinion that most laminated shafts/low deflection shafts feel and hit better with a steel joint to make up for the...well lack of solidness(lol).. this wouldn't be the case for a Mezz shaft however as they usual feel stiff as hell. On the other hand, I prefer solid maple to be wood to wood.
