Leather pocket restoration

I'm installing new inside leather trim pieces on my antique Brunswick table. I'm referring to the red scalloped pieces that line the inside of the leather pocket and the edge of the slate. What is the best way to attach them? Should they glue in and if so, what kind of glue?
