My table uses the "modern" bucket style pockets that fit inside the frame. But those that came with the table were made of rubber and they dirtied the balls after only a few hours.
The new pockets came from the Hood Leather Goods Co. of Wisconsin. Besides improving the table's looks, the pockets play better than the old, which would reject some shots that were well hit. These pockets play better, hands down.
And finally, the sounds effects are more pleasing. Don't know how to describe it, but the leather just sounds better. The table mechanics installed the pockets as they were rebuilding my table and resetting the rails. Haven't had to clean the balls once in the past week.
