Left arm straight

mmm explains all :)

one of my first posts here, i was asking what the use of a wrap was, because i always held the cue at the butt and my arm was perpendicular and the cue was the right lenght... now i get it :) it was my straight arm.

both problems solved :D

thx, some reps for you

The reason way you miss when you keep your left arm streight is that you don't have a enough long cue, so when you bend your arm you compensate this. At 6 4' you need at least a 63 inch cue. How long is your cue?
I'm 6 8' and that's my problem too.

Theoretically if your tall enough I guess your grip would wind up off the cue completely with a completely straight arm forcing you to bend it just for the sake of gripping a cue and that could be an issue.

My cue is 59" predator 2 but the issue I was addressing was the awkward feeling of tightening and contorted muscles in forcing your arm to a locked straight position. I was more just interested in whether people felt it was neccesary to force your body to accomodate such a position or to let the left arm be as straight as it could be while not having tension in it.

I've tried a 60" and 61" cue and the 60 wasn't bad but the 61 started to feel kind of weird in my hands but then again it may just be something you get used to over time.

As long as your head, torso, and bridge hand (and of course cue) are in line the rest is inconsequential. You just want to be solid and comfortable in the shot. Different players have different styles (look at big guys like MIZ who didn't really get down on any shot)....but the one thing that remains the same is they all knew how to line up in the shot.
