Some of the best of all time are lefties.
Thought this article might be interesting to those of you out there who shoot left handed.

Funny how we are measured on which hand we write with as being "left or right handed."

It doesn't mention pool, but maybe you have a story about how you came to shoot left handed vs right handed, or something similar.

From the first time I picked up a pool cue shooting left-handed came naturally to me. I thought for years I was playing right-handed, and that the coordination must be in your bridge hand.

Then one day I was playing someone and he said, "Oh, you're a lefty." I said, "No, I'm right-handed." "Well, you're shooting left-handed," he said. I was actually incredulous at first, but then I realized that I was, in fact, playing left-handed.

I'm right-handed, and playing pool is the only thing I can do with any coordination left-handed.

I have a theory why some right-handed people shoot with their left hand. Here it is, Beginners when trying to make a closed bridge with their left hand concluded it was easier to make a closed bridge with their right hand. Therefore they became a lefty. Also, some of them when using the bridge shoot right-handed.

My story is word for word the same as poolbum,
But for me it was months not years.

And i like the theory from joealb.

And i am happy to read long boring
Articles about pool, but this one-zzzzz

Some people are just (confusedly) ambidextrous. I have a friend who plays pool right-handed, but when I took him to the pistol range for his first shooting experience, he automatically picked up the gun and shot left handed (sighting with his left eye)!

I think I’m Mixed-handed. It’s strange, My Mom was an identical Twin, and of four children, two of us are Lefty’s, and two Righties. People tried to make me a Rightie, as a kid, but my Parents stopped them. I always wrote, played Baseball/Football/Hockey/Basketball/Bowling as a Rightie. I always played Pool, Guitar, and ate as a Lefty. I shoot guns as a Lefty. I have no idea why, but my Left-handed Brother shot Pool as a Rightie, but did everything else like me. I heard that Mike Siegel shot Pool as a Lefty, because his Teacher shot Left-handed. I was also amazed to see that John Morra had switched to shooting Left-handed, but he was breaking the Ball as a Rightie!

I accidentally wrote that I write as a Right-Henderix, but I most definitely write as a Lefty! I had mediocre handwriting as in Elementary School, but it improved drastically and artistically in Middle and High School. I guess I’m crazy, I’ve never declared myself as a Rightie before!

I'm similar to you (except my mom wasn't a twin). I write left handed, shoot pool left handed, eat and brush my teeth left handed but swing a bat right handed, swing an hammer right handed. Basically, if it involves force or strength it's right handed but if it involves finesse it's left handed. Somethings I can switch hands without skipping a beat :grin-square:

a lot of good left handed pool players

Very few golfers. I wonder why ? I think it could be the moon or, or
maybe something to do with the way the water in the toilet
always swirls clockwise no matter which hand I flush with.
Another thing I've noticed that most right handed people
use their left index finger to pick their nose no matter which nostril
they are working on. So many questions.

Since someone mentioned golf, I'll point out that 2 of the greatest of all time played opposite hand. Ben Hogan was a natural left-hander, and Phil Mickelson - Lefty himself - is a natural righthander.

I didn't mention that I'm right handed but have been shooting a Bow left-handed since I was 7.

I’ve heard that toilet water swirls counter-clockwise down in Australia (?).
