Legal Modifications to cue stick

Are there regulations against modifying a cue stick?

Modifications I am working on are:

Adding more weight to the rear

Putting paint lines on shaft

Adding a liquid level gauge.

The only regs. I've read is about size, it doesn't say anything about paint, or weight enhancements.

No Idea, but I say go for this.

Weight do what you want to it up to the limit in the rule book.

Paint lines, done already, Viking exact shot shaft and I think others have done it in the past.

Level gauge is useless, you will miss every shot watching the thing to make sure your cue is level.

BCA POOL CUE SPECIFICATIONS:
Player may bring a maximum of 3 cue sticks to a match.

Width of tip: no minimum / 14 mm maximum
Weight: no minimum / 25 oz. maximum
Length: 40 inches minimum / no maximum

The cue tip may not be of a material that can scratch or damage the addressed ball. The cue tip on any stick must be composed of a piece of specially processed
leather or other fibrous or pliable material that extends the natural line of the shaft end of the cue and contacts the cue ball when the shot is executed.

The ferrule, if of a metal material, may not be more than 1 inch in length.

Liquid level gauge? I knew all his "level as possible" talk would confuse people.

are you playing in tournaments where this matters?

I think there is a rule against directly answering questions around here.

You'll have to do better than that. ;)

You're probably right, I didn't give the poster's question due credit.

If there are legal limitations on pool cue modifications, someone should post the fines or prison terms that are involved in such modifications.

You can't make this stuff up.

All the best,
WW

I've learned about sensors and basic electronics and microcontrollers.

I doubt technology like that has ever come up as a tournament issue.

If 25oz is the max weight, I can mount a small a circuit with a variety of tech powered by a 4A battery.

I plan on hiding most of the board circuitry in an extension shaft.

I have a sloppy prototype with wires along the shaft everywhere.

Talking about it online sounds safer, than taking that out at a tournament and creating trouble.
