Got some white tail Deer antler Blanks i would be willing to sell if I could....The thing is im out of Illinois and dont really know the legal stand point on selling anything that has to do with the White tail deer. I know you cant sell its meat or anything but, can you sell the sheds or ferrule blanks?!?

I see them out for sale on ebay but non of the sellers are from Illinois...I know our laws on all this stuff is TIGHT!!

any input would be nice..

"The inedible portions of game mammals, such as antlers, hides, hooves, skulls and bones, may be bought and sold without any permit or license required. (The inedible parts of vehicle-killed deer or deer killed by other, non-hunting methods, however, may not be sold.) Note: As outlined in section II.B.3, Record and Tagging Requirements, the mountable inedible portions of game mammals must be properly tagged."


Thats weird....You Cant sell sheds but if they are Legally killed and tagged they are legal to sell.....

I would read this to be that if it came from a carcass you found and don't know how it died, you can't sell it, but an actual shed of antlers without a body should be ok as there wasn't a death involved, JMHO. A call to your fish and wildlife hotline for your state should clear this question up quickly. Most states won't ask your name etc. so I recomend to give it a try. A shed is easy to tell from a kill, no blood in a shed like there is in a kill rack.
