I'm looking for a certain piece of wood for the rear section of a full splice cue. What are the size requirements of the wood needed to build a this type of cue? Thanks?

It depends on who is building it and if it has sharp points at the back as well as the front. There may be other parameters as I don't know as I've never built one. I did talk to Schmelke once about having some built, with me furnishing the material and they told me that the rear piece had to be at least 26 inches long for them to use their set-up.

Sapele pommele. I have found a place that has some ok pieces but none are 27+inches and none are as figured or quilted as much as I want. Does anyone know where I could find something? The pieces I found are 20-30.00. I would pay double or more for the right piece. Any help would be great. Thanks.

heres what I'm looking to have done.

I should have explained myself better. This is the type of cue I'm looking to have built. Bridged pointed full splice. The sapele pammele will be for the bottom or rear section of the cue. Again, if anyone has an outstanding piece they would part with, I would love to purchase it. Thanks for the help.

In emails we have exchanged, you also want reverse full splice points in the butt. Depending on where the splices fall, how long the points are and the length of the cue. Could be as short as 24". Full splice, bridged veneer cues are not something a lot builders do. Might be easier to find a builder who is willing to do it. Once the basic layout is done. They can tell you what you need to have.
