I have a Les blevins cue for sale.I will desrcibe it as best as possible as my digital camera is acting up(i.e. broken):D .It is one of the plain versions of his cues.Brown phenolic joint,SW cue style rings, birdseye maple forearm,grey/white speck irish linen wrap, birdseye maple butt sleeve.Cue is signed Les Blevins '95 on the forearm.Cue does have one big ding on the forearm going though the finish and to the wood.It is approximately 1/8" long. The cue hits close to SW cue(not exactly, but close) as Les worked with Jerry Franklin I think in the early 1990's.The rings are heavily influenced by SW as they are Franklin's style. This cue has one shaft.I also have a companion Blevins jump/break cue. This cue is in the style of many house cues with typical four points, etc. However, the cue was handmade by Les and breaks down in the back to be a jump cue.It has brown phenolic joints.A super-G tip/ferrule has been added to the cue to enhance performance.Breaks and jumps well.Just send me a private message if interested and we can discuss in any questions you might have.

First, let me say that Les Blevins makes a nice cue......however, according to Laurie Franklin, Les Blevins has never, at any time, been associated or worked with Jerry Franklin, or Southwest cues. I see folks make reference to the fact that he worked for SW and learned to make cues there, however, I was visiting Laurie at SW in Vegas when she was dealing with a Blevins question to her reference his history with SW. She stated that in the history of SW, Les Blevins had never been associated with them. Laurie and 2 others make up SW's "factory". Jerry was the fourth and there was one other who was not Les Blevins. Many cuebuilders, however, have been "influenced" by Jerry Franklin and SW cues...I believe that is where you will find Mr. Blevins fits in.

Les worked with Richard Harris/blue grass cues

The story I get is.... Les was taught by Joe Blackburn (Both used to live in Ashland, Ky.). Joe was also a big influence to Richard Harris in the early years of his career.

much appreciated info.

To other forum members who responded,I appreciate the good info. This helps me out to know the pedigree of these cues.If you have any other useful info.(such as Blevins' phone number) I could also use that. Thanks Dan

I don't have Les' number anymore. You might check directory asst. He used to live in Ashland Ky.

Sorry just got back from anniversary trip. Did you get any pics? What are the weights? Are they straight? Thanks

FYI - I put a Les Blevins on ebay one time, in the description I mentioned he was associated with Richard Harris. Richard Harris emailed me and ask me to change the description, or cancel the auction because he has never even met Les Blevins, nor does he know who he is. I had several Blevins in my day, and they Hit em' good.

blevins sold

Both cues were sold yesterday and I want to thank the forum members for all of the good info. supplied on the cues and the inquries on the cues:)
