Ive been using Zan hard tips for over a year now, best tip ever. Chalk retention, elasticity, overall my fav tip....still lookin to try kamui black hard

Leagues went extremely well last night with my new tip, Broke extremely well and spin and position play felt amazing. I think it pairs great with my new WX700 shaft and I am adjusting pretty well. I can't wait to see how I feel about it in a month or so, hopefully I don't run into any glaze over problems and the tip play stays constant.

Keep you all posted.

My first Zan premium soft lasted approximately 5 months before I decide to change. Never mushroomed although I think having a knowledgeable cue repair guy helps in that aspect. Since then I've been changing them out about every month or so jus to keep it fresh.

Good to know, although I installed on my own without a lathe and tapered it very little it hasn't mushroomed after extensive play and breaking. It burnished extremely well by hand with only using 800grit sand paper spit and then using a piece of burnishing lather while spinning with pressure.

So you say you replace every month of so? that seems pretty regular, how many hours are you clocking on the tip? Or is this just something you have always done with your tips?

Ok it's been over a month since my last update on my Zan premium soft.... It's still great hits amazing and ordered another one off of Marc (our fellow AZ'r) Thanks Marc!

Problems? Not really, typical glazing after a week or so after extensive play but no biggy I just bring some of the fibers up with a Gator grip. I have miscued, but I blame that on me not chalking as usual as I should and attempting to juice the ball with to much english when I don't need to. You see I'm extremely use to a 13mm tip r 12.75 not the new 12.5 MEZZ WX700. So still learning how to adjust but love the new shaft and tip either way .

Something new? No for now Maybe try the new Zan Hybrib Max sometime in the future but for now I'm happy with the Premium soft.

Any questions just ask Via PM or on the thread

never thought I would change from Kamui SS, til I bought a cue with a Zan soft installed, best tip I've ever played with, Zan soft for me from now on.

I installed a Zan premium soft for myself and a few buddies. I love them and my buddies loves them.
The tip i have on now have seen about 40 hours of play and looks as good now as the day i installed it.
Having installed a few Zan tips now and tested all of them, to me Zan seems to be the brand with the best consistency.

Kim, Have you had the chance to try out a Hybrid Max yet? I know Marc has them along with the premium soft's but I was to chicken to pick one up to try unless I knew how it stands up against the PremSoft. I even tried contacting Zan on their facebook but no answers...

Wow, i put hybrid grip hard on Hp2. It is the best feel tip for my hp2 so far, The cueball doesn't grab too much upon impact on the tip, you only compensate for the deflection as long as you play one to two tips of english. Very straight hitter and the cueball doesn't swerve. it plays like a worn out pressed master. Sounds almost the same too.

IMO zan grip hard plays best with LD shafts, if you play with Hp2, 314-2 or other LD shaft try a hard tip on it. It minimizes the swerve or throw effect on the object ball. It draws very nice and have more power. Soft or medium tip would tend to swerve too early after hitting the cueball.

My analogy here is when you throw the cueball to a hard cement it will bounce back more than throwing it on a foam. The reaction of the cueball will be straighter as it will not over spin.

Inside spin is very much easier to pocket and more consistent as you will only compensate for the squirt. Cueball doesn't come back and hit the OB thick, unlike some soft tips where it will swerve back. Imo, it is harder to adjust to swerve than squirt.

No miscue on hybrid grip hard, blue diamond chalk will adhere to it. You may also want to use kamui chalk and it will give you great results as well, but blue diamond is already enough. :):thumbup::thumbup:
