I had a 4 dome fixture and tried dozens of flood lights, spot lights, etc. The best I found was an A19 base, 100w equivalent led, daylight bulb. It looked like a normal light bulb. Most 100w equivalents are a little longer A21 base, and bothered my eyes when bending over. Eventually I purchased the 2 flat panel led lights in the link below and built a 2'x8'x4" frame out of 1"x4" lumber. It was a little too much light so I added the dimmer in the link. I spent about $300 including lights, dimmer, stain, poly, and trim, but its the best $300 I've spent.
