I got my table about 6 years ago and I can probably count on my fingers and toes the number of times I've actually played on it. As I was cleaning it tonight, I think I finally realized why I don't like to play on it. The lighting is terrible. I didn't know any better when I got the table, but I'm pretty sure the light I bought is probably supposed to be for an 8' table. I know the billiards supply place I bought it from said it should be good enough for a 9' table, but its not. Its horrible and the shadows are terrible! The light consists of only two 4' flourescent bulbs.
I'm pretty sure I need a better lighting system, so I've started to look around. Mostly everything I see on the web are the lamp kind of lights. I don't want that. I want a light like the nice Diamond lights that is a box of lights as wide as the pool table itself. Anyone know of a place I can get one used? If not used, where can I get one new? Or something at least comparable to that light. I want to try to find something locally so I don't have to spend a ton of money on shipping, but at the same time, I'd prefer to NOT have to go thru my local billiards store because I try not to give them my business if I can help it. (Long story.)
Any suggestions? I'm in the Austin area, so something in the San Antonio-Austin-Dallas-Houston area can be doable.
Thanks in advance!
