Light Green Simonis

I was watching an old tape of a Sands Reno tournament last night. It was a match between Archer and Reyes. And I watched a video of the Masters years ago, a match between Strickland and Reyes.

I noticed both tables had green Simonis on them. Yet that shade of green seemed a lot lighter than the regular Simonis Green.

So, my question is, what is the lightest green that Simonis makes? I had the regular 860 Simonis Green on my Gold Crown IV years ago and it was pretty dark. A lot darker than what I was seeing on TV.

I just changed over from Blue/Green to Simonis Green and I noticed watching on TV, that the lighting has a dramatic abiliity to change the greens. Sometimes the overhead looks Blue/Green, while the rack shot is someimes lighter than the actual production color. Adjacent tables sometimes look very much darker, but if I see the Simonis name, I'm assured they're all Simonis Green.

Perhaps also related to video quality and saturation and exposure settings.

Even in my avatar, you can see the fade off of my tiny flash and the resulting different hues from the under illuminated head to the more illuminated foot.

Lights, video recording and your screen will change the color so it's nothing like what you will see in person. Remember you are not looking at the cloth, you are looking at a recording of the cloth that is being reproduced by your screen and whatever you are playing it on.

I am seriously considering putting new cloth on the Gold Crown IV as I retire on March 31st and would like it done before retirement. And I am seriously considering going with the Chartreuse color simply because all of their other shades of green are just too dark.

I really wish they had a light shade of both green and blue, I think Simonis would sell a lot of those colors.

I took all of these photos with my iPhone under the same CFL bulb in the ceiling, but at different angles. The result? Four different colors of Simonis spruce, and none of them look like the color looked in real life. ;)

Here's what are apparently the "stock" colors for the table. The green leans towards Simonis Green, with maybe a tad of Blue/Green in it.

Simonis Green is a "screaming at you", green. I like it for a more classic 60's look on my older table. I replaced my Simonis Blue/Green which I also liked very much. Sort of a retro, used green look.
