What length lamp is needed for a 92" table?I have my eye on a 60" lamp with 3 100 watt bulbs,but have my doubts that it is long enough.Is there a website where I can find the recommendations for the different size tables?

Isnt that just a 7 foot table?

that should be plenty big.

For bulbs try the newer compact florescent bulbs in 100 watts, They cast a better light on the table IMO.
 
OK, so thats a pro 8. Same size table as I have.

I looked forever for a 4 shade lamp that was close to that length, but could only find new ones for many $$$. I went with a three shade, put 110 watt equivalent compact florescent light bulbs on it and it works great. Just adjust the light heighth from the playing surface so that it meets the edge of the table.
 
I agree with KC about three shades being good enough. My experience with compact flouresents has always been on the up and up.
 
I just bought a 7' table for the house and my father is a wood worker and is making me a table light with a wood frame, 3 individual light globes each holding 2 60w bulbs. You can see photos on www.zimsrack.com in the near future.
You should be fine with the 3 shade light!

depending on your handyman skills you might take a look at a diamond light, the best light money can buy IMO. looks like it would be easy to make a spin-off if that, then it would just require 2 or 3 6'-8' floresents and they are very inexpensive. another thing to keep in mind, is there any other lighting in the room, i have a 16X34 pool room and my table is on one end and couch and TV on the other end, there is a ceiling fan with lights on the Tv end of the room, when the fan light is on and i'm playing pool it will cast shadows off the end rail and off the balls.LOL

While I was the equipment guy for the Por-Tour, we had a standard for lights. The bottom of the fixture, [frame] was 80" off the floor. We arrived at that by holding ouir hand above the table, about shoulder high, and checking for double shadows around the table. 80" worked out well. At that height, we has no shadow at the rails.

I have two, 6ft double florescent bulbs, [40 watts ea.], total of 4 bulbs. Works great.
