Has anyone out there tried these products which claim to reduce the vibration in the cue? As a room owner with a proshop, we have been asked to consider bringing in the products. All comments are welcome.

Limbsaver products - discussion

It's good to hear there is some testing going on. I don't quite understand how the product works from looking at their website. Our clients are interested and I'm considering bringing the products into Canada via my club, as we distribute many products. There is also the 'does it really need to work' factor, though? If I THINK it works, isn't that good, too? Look at the mega-billion dollar gold product market. Does the overall improvement in the sport rationalize this market?

I still have no idea why one would want to reduce vibrations from his/her cue.
That's like saying you want a guitar with no reasonance.
I can see the sense of reducing vibrations on golf clubs and baseball bats but not on pool cues. The vibration is your feedback from the hit.

In tennis they have vibration dampeners to put in between you're strings, i used to not use them, i hit with mega topspin and always thought i got more spin with more vibration. Pool would be a lot different cause the contact is minimal, but maybe you would be more likely to miscue from a cue with more vibration, the tip would possibly slide on contact? This is an interesting question.

I doubt it. I dought if Limbsaver would reduce the shaft's vibration.

Limbsaver test

I will be testing the product soon. My equipment is being used at the moment to diagnose a problem in a 1275 ton Centrifical liquid chiller. I will be finished with it today. I will post results soon. Sorry for the delay. I have received the product and it is ready for testing.

Limbsaver was first invented to take the vibration out of the limbs of compound bows. There is a lot of energy released, when the string is released, and quite a bit of vibration. Some of my friends use them on their bows and say they can feel a difference. I don't use them personally. I think the vibration in a pool cue is so minimal it probably won't make much difference.JMO

I've used them on my bow. It only made it a bigger pain for me to carry in the woods :D Though my friends used them and liked them.

Members of this forum are conducting an independent test, results will be posted shortly.

What you just said was you don't have the slightest idea do you. I have been reading your posts for a long time and you never say anything. I have come to the conclusion you really dont know anything. I have seen bums sitting under bridges in Liberty City that are more enlightened than you. Why dont you put this antivibrator on your sambo pals crack pipes and lets us know if hoking down the dope is smoother with less vibration. That is the only testing we are going to get out of you.

I have seen the product but have not asked people using it whether they like it or not.

I think they look pretty ugly myself. Nothing like putting in ugly looking plug on a thousand dollar cue.

While I can openly admit that I am nowhere near pro level in my game, nor a cue expert...I have recently started getting some OCCASSIONAL vibration from my cues that seem "odd". Granted, I currently only have some cheap house cues, and 1 cue I bought (but it is also cheap). Perhaps that has something to do with this funky vibration.

Anyhow, the point being is that when I shoot, I do fairly good. But occassionally I will shoot, and I will feel this funky vibration. About 90% of the time when it happens I will miss the shot. Although I know the vibration and missing seem to occur together, I am unsure if I am the one creating the vibration when I shoot and consequently making myself miss the shot. Or perhaps it is just the cue getting enough deflection through "natural" means to vibrate enough and cause me to miss the shot.

If it is the latter of the 2 options, then perhaps such a device WOULD help me improve my game. Then again, I don't get this funky vibration all the time. I'd say about once or twice per game. Advice/tips welcome to help me out.

vibrations or not....seems like a waste of $30usd IMO. Maybe if it was sold for $10 but 30 is a bit over priced for something that won't make you a better player

Why does not somebody we trust and who is a good player just check this thing out and tell us if it works or if it is a waste of our money. How tough is that to do?

Hint

How many pro players do you see with a LimbSaver X1 Cue Stick stabilizer?
Please do not include paid spokesman!
Don

One paid endorser did not even shoot with it the last time I saw him.

Now that's funny.

They remind me of the scene in Tin cup, where Rene Ruso has all of those golf gadgets she bought on TV.
