List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

person wants to gather a list of wooden cue players

ok got it

let’s attack them, question them, curse them, talk philosophy and poetry and personal stories

discuss cue makers and endorsements and wood and fiber and aiming and the weather and the east wing

"WHY THE F&*K does there need to be a list of players using this-or-that shaft?? What is the point??" Because people are interested, that's why. They want a piece of data about a trend in their favorite sport. I don't need a warm-fuzzy feeling about what shaft I'm using. I'm just interested, along with a number of other people. Isn't that what this forum is for?
my point is pretty clear: anyone that buys a cue/golf club/bowling ball/darts/whatever the fk based on what some pro uses is an idiot. this topic comes up almost weekly: what does so-n-so use for their tip/cue/wrap/chalk/scuffer. pick your equipment based on your game/stroke/ability/budget/etc and don't worry about what some pro does. Folks these players could WAIL on every member of AZ with a pos house cue. Book it.

Yes, your point was pretty clear and I agree with you: it's absurd to use a piece of equipment because some pro uses it. Unfortunately, that's not what the thread is about: the OP went nowhere near discussing that or recommending anything like that. It raised a question about the numbers related to the CF vs wood trend among professional players. Quite a few forum members, none of them idiots as far as I can tell, found it interesting and worth commenting on. You don't approve of the discussion? Okay.

ok fine you can call these people idiots

but the nature of sponsorship and endorsements is based on star-power

why would shoe companies and clothing companies pay billions and billions, and millions and millions of dollars to star athletes if it didn’t work?

and why does cuetec fly svb around the world to play in tournaments and supply him with cues and money?

because they like him?
or does it help them sell cues?

You are right, it does work, it works for Cuetec and SVB, what about John Q League player? Does it work for him? Or does it cost him a lot more money for the cue he just purchased? I know one thing for sure, that cost is being passed on to somebody......

Your right about that, they are everywhere now. These player endorsements definitely make the average player, believe that they need this or that shaft.
You would think by now that CF, with would have taken over. But there are still pros, who do there own thing.
I would guess that the list will, get shorter as the years go on.
