After the recent threads about Chen Simeng, her level of play and the comparisons to Wu Chia Ching's young world championship my old brain recalled the 2009 Women's World Champoinship won by Liu Sha Sha.
I went back and re watched the finals and it is a treat to see. Link to first video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZt6UHbbaXQ&feature=related
After a little shaky start and being down 5-1 to Karen Corr, Liu won 8 straight games to take the match 9-5. Included in that run was a 5 pack.
She was 16 at the time.
If you watch it, the shot that got me was in the last game. On the hill at 8-5, Liu broke, made four balls on the break but had a long tough shot off the rail at the 4 ball. She calmly drilled it and proceeded to run out for the win.
BTW - Fu Xiao Fang who won the 2010 WC is Liu's older sister I think.
